The roof is the building

In a hot climate the roof does most of the work. It decides where the shade falls, where the rain goes and how the house meets the sky.

At Casa Alva the whole design is one roof line, drawn early and never changed. Everything else was arranged underneath it.

If you get the roof right, the rooms tend to follow.
